ToggleWhat are Backlinks?
Do you know that the do-follow links are backlinks?
You might have seen do-follow and no-follow links. Did you know these are Backlinks?
These are Backlinks and don’t underestimate these links. These are very powerful links for your blogging journey.
As your website trust increases, the market value of your blog increases.
Backlinks are the connecting links to the web pages. The more linking of your blog pages by other bloggers, the more work for the Google crawlers.
When you get more backlinks from fellow bloggers (meaning your blog post link is a do-follow link in a fellow blogger post), your domain authority will increase as your blog post link is visible on your fellow blogger’s sites. So, chances of getting more traffic and earning!
Organic search is directly proportional to the traffic.
You’ll see that your traffic would boost because of the quality of backlinks.
Now, what exactly are backlinks, and how do they look?
Backlinks are the fellow blogger’s outbound links that they give for your blog with a do-follow signal.
When your blog links get a place in other bloggers’ blogs, it is a backlink for you.
These links are pointing toward your blog post, so when Google crawler goes to the fellow blog post, they crawl at your link too, and thus your website authority automatically increases.
Make sure to add both do-follow and no-follow links to your blog post. Make sure to mark do-follow only to that blog post you consider trustworthy, which is important for your readers.
Why do we need Backlinks? (Importance of Backlinks)
1. Ranking- When you receive a quality backlink from the authority sites, Google enhances your rank automatically.
2. Credibility- Google sees if you are cited by many fellow bloggers from your niche area, which means your website has quality.
You are doing well and putting in strenuous efforts by giving your readers some more relevant and research-based analyzed blog posts. Isn’t that great for your blogging business!!
And that is good news for you as your website would be getting a particular preference in Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) by Google.
3. Visibility- It would be easier for Google to identify your website as you have quality backlinks from an authority domain. These external links from fellow blogger sites are treated as a vote of confidence or popularity by Google. Thus, your website visibility and domain authority would increase.
Backlinks and Website Ranking are somewhat correlated to some extent.
For example, in the below screenshot, for the keyword ‘ Short Pixel‘ page authority and backlinks are somewhat correlated.
The quality backlinks increase the page authority, keeping some other factors like traffic and referring domain into consideration.
See the below screenshot.
Here, as backlinks increase, page authority too increases, though it is not the only factor for enhancement of domain authority, but a much more relevant one.
So, for what are you waiting? The next question jumps up where and how to get quality backlinks?

Methods to Get Quality Natural Backlinks
1# Quality Blog Post
Whatever strategies you apply, the first and foremost would be the content of your blog post.
Unless and until your content has QUALITY, there will be no quality backlinks.
Backlinks attract quality content.
You would also like to link and mark do-follow only to those blog links which are quality and have some relevance to your readers.
After all, you provide your readers with information and can’t compromise the quality.
Like your fellow bloggers, they will only give your blog a do-follow link when it has that much quality.
Now, the following questions pop up on maintaining the blog’s quality.
- Always takes relevant topics for writing.
Your blog topic should be relevant and most searched. Take the help of free google keyword planner or tolls like Semrush and start with low difficult keywords.
By doing so, you would get keywords that would rank high and attract a decent amount of traffic.
Let’s see some screen sorts below from the Semrush tool.
In the above screenshot, suppose I want to write a blog on ‘How to Start A Blog.’
If you go with this keyword, it is tough to beat the competitor as they have already written on this topic and have higher domain authority sites with high-quality backlinks.
Then what to do? Make the keyword difficulty level possible now. See the result in the screenshot below.
Here, you would see that with a keyword difficulty level of around 32, we can write a blog with the keyword “How much does it cost to start a blog,” “How to start a sports blog,” or “How to start a fitness blog” and fetch traffic volume around 200.
So, focus on keywords that give decent traffic and write first on these topics.
When you focus on specific keyword-based topics, you will likely get more traffic and a higher rank in Google, thus redirecting quality backlinks toward your site.
2. Detailed Researched and Comprehensive Topic
Always give detailed research and complete information about the topic.
Do research-based analysis so that your blog outshines. Always consider what difference you will give your readers from your fellow bloggers.
You don’t have to depend on the keywords and spend your time only on keyword research.
Focus on what is in trend and what fellow bloggers are writing, which topics they are covering, and see its difficulty level, then choose your topic.
Always write a detailed blog so that all keywords automatically appear. By giving a researched blog, you are creating a better domain authority for your website and thus fetching more backlinks.
For knowing, fellow bloggers’ blogs see their XML sitemap.
XML Sitemap: Provides the list of Blogs/Pages on your website.
How you can see that simply type /sitemap.xml after any website name.
